Perhaps you’ve heard people tell you, that Libertarians need to win local elections before they run for the office of president. The false assumption is that since Libertarians have never won a presidential race yet, that they haven’t won any local races either.

What states does the Libertarian Party have local officials in?

There are 231 seats that have been filled by Libertarian officials in 36 states currently or in the past as listed below:

Arizona: 3 seats.

California: 13 seats.

Colorado: 1 seat.

Connecticut: 2 seats.

Florida: 31 seats.

Illinois: 12 seats.

Indiana: 11 seats.
